Illustrated Calendar for PT Pelindo Energi Logistik
PT Pelindo Energi Logistik (PT PEL) is a subsidiary of Pelindo Group, specializing in energy logistics services across Indonesia. With safety as one of their core values, PT PEL commissioned a special illustrated calendar to highlight their internal safety culture through PELSPECTA—a set of nine safety and security principles.
Each page features original illustrations showing how these values are implemented in the daily activities of PT PEL employees, visualized through Indonesian-inspired superhero character. The result is a calendar that not only informs, but also inspires—a year-long celebration of the people and principles behind PT PEL’s operations.
The illustrations were featured across six monthly pages and one cover, crafted to suit both wall and desk calendar formats. Each format was carefully adapted to maintain visual consistency and storytelling impact across different sizes and layouts.
To elevate the presentation, both versions of the calendar were packaged in a specially designed premium envelope—giving the final product a more exclusive, polished, and gift-worthy feel.

The design style for this calendar leans toward a clean and modern aesthetic, paired with vibrant and immersive illustrations. Each scene is thoughtfully composed to showcase real company facilities and day-to-day employee activities, creating a dynamic visual narrative that feels both authentic and engaging.

Visualizing PELSPECTA: From Character to Scene
The illustration process began with the development of a unique character design, which also served as the company’s mascot. Inspired by traditional wayang figures, the character combines the heroic traits of a modern-day superhero with strong elements of Indonesian culture—creating a powerful visual identity that feels both familiar and iconic.
The core of the illustrations revolves around the nine safety values of PELSPECTA. Some values were represented individually, while others were combined into single scenes—depending on how they naturally connected in the context of daily operations.
One of the main challenges in creating the illustrations was maintaining accuracy in depicting the company’s real-world environments and workflows. This included detailed renderings of ships, fuel tanks, specialized trucks, and other complex logistics infrastructure, all integrated seamlessly into the visual narrative.

Below is the final render of the illustration, showcasing one of the key safety values upheld by PT Pelindo Energi Logistik as part of the PELSPECTA framework. Each visual element is carefully designed to reflect real workplace scenarios, highlighting how these values are applied in the day-to-day activities of the employees. From the background setting to character interactions, every detail is crafted to bring the message to life in a way that’s both engaging and meaningful.
The superhero character was later adapted and further developed into a set of digital stickers for internal communication use. Designed for chat platforms, these expressive stickers helped bring the character’s personality to life while reinforcing the company’s safety values in a fun, casual, and relatable way—turning routine messages into moments of engagement.
